About Me
I earned a BS Mathematics from UC Santa Barbara, and an MS in Mathematics from CSU, Northridge. (My last semester at CSU, Northridge was the earthquake semester-1994.)
I have been teaching math at College of the Sequoias since 1994. College of the Sequoias is a public two-year community college located in Visalia, CA. Although I teach the full range of courses, I focus on developmental mathematics and introductory statistics.
While at COS, I have received the Golden Apple Award (awarded by students), the CMC3 Distinguished Instructor Award (awarded by my math colleagues at COS), and was nominated for Tulare County Teacher of the Year (nominated by the COS Faculty Senate).
My wife Tina and I have been married since 1993, and we have two children. Our son is working in the mobile game industry, and our daughter is on her way to becoming an elementary school teacher. Besides being my biggest supporter and the love of my life, Tina is the co-webmaster here at GeorgeWoodbury.com and has been really helpful with video production.
