Today’s match ups featured the road team’s A lineup versus the home team’s B lineup. Two of the games were close, exciting contests. New York improved to a 5-1 record after squeaking by the Homestead Grays 2-1, despite Turkey Stearnes’s 3rd home run of the season.
My favorite game was St. Louis taking a 5-4 decision over Kansas City on a sacrifice fly by Bernando Baro in the top of the 9th inning.
Today’s Player Focus post is on Larry “Iron Man” Brown, a player known for his defense behind the plate. Ironically, he had 3 triples in yesterday’s win for my Birmingham Black Barons over the Newark Eagles.
