Clarence “Spoony” Palm was a power hitting catcher. While playing with the St. Louis Stars in the late 1920s, in a home run friendly ballpark (Stars Park) he put up his better home run totals.

Palm played 20 years (1927-1946) for thirteen teams, including the Birmingham Black Barons, Detroit Stars, Homestead Grays, Indianapolis ABCs, Pittsburgh Crawfords, Newark Eagles, and New York Black Yankees. It appears that Palm began to play while in his early teens, and he did manage later in his career.

Unfortunately, there is little that has been written about Spoony Palm and his life.
