Week 7 Wrap Up

After 7 weeks, Detroit opened up a 1-game lead on St. Louis, and 2 games on New York. Here are the standings, along with key individual statistical leaders.

Ralph Kiner leads in home runs with 9 and RBI with 23. Mule Suttles is on his tail, with 7 HR and 18 RBI.
Pete Alexander and Pedro Martinez each have 6 wins. Martinez leads in ERA (2.33), with Big Bill Foster, William Bell, and Pete Alexander in close pursuit. Pedro Martinez still leads the way with 65 strike outs after an 11-K game this week. Bruce Sutter and Rollie Fingers are the save leaders with 8 each.
Eddie Collins is the only player who has hit safely in all 14 of their games.

Here are the batting average leaders. Josh Gibson still leads the way at .500, and Babe Ruth sits in second place at .462. There are now only 4 players still hitting over .400 – Tris Speaker (.404) and Eddie Collins (.404) are the other two.

Finally, here are the league leaders in OPS. Again, this shows how great Gibson and Ruth have been. Mule Suttles moved up to third on the list thanks to a red-hot week!
