Week 6 Wrap Up

Note: All statistics can be found at THIS SITE.

After 6 weeks, St. Louis and New York are tied for first with 15-9 (.625) records. Detroit is only 1 game out of first. Here are the standings, along with key individual statistical leaders.

Ralph Kiner continues to have a dominating lead in home runs (9) and RBI (23). Considering each player has only started 12 games, those are impressive totals.
Three pitchers (Pete Alexander, Pedro Martinez, and Cy Young) have 5 wins. Cy Young now leads the league with a 2.08 ERA. Pedro Martinez still leads the way with 54 strike outs – that’s 9 per game. Rollie Fingers is the save leader with 7.
Joe Kelley (.367 average) and Eddie Collins (.420 average) are the only players who have hit safely in all 12 of their games.

Here are the batting average leaders. Josh Gibson raised his average to .521, and Babe Ruth sits in second place at .489. There are 6 players still hitting over .400.

Finally, here are the league leaders in OPS. Again, this shows how great Gibson and Ruth have been. Tris Speaker has also been outstanding.
